GUICAUSA has continued to evolve and grow through the years and technology has made it convenient to use the Internet as a more responsive medium of communication, thus this web site. Through this site, we hope to create a focal point of communication for members. We ask members to bookmark this web site address (www.guicausa.org) and come visit it regularly.
The idea of having a GUICAUSA web site was probably discussed years ago. In 2002 while in Toronto, we surely discussed about the need for a web site. An attempt was made to assign the web site building and designing to some members, but perhaps due to time constraints, no web site was published. The good thing is we now have this site. We will definitely aim to improve it as we progress along. That said, we call on members who have web-design skills to help improve the functionality and looks of this site.
Meanwhile, the 2008 reunion is approaching. Do check the Reunion Page for updates. We have made it easier to sign up for our 2008 reunion in Houston, Texas. For details, go to the "reunion" page.
What else is new?
1) We have 200 "free" email accounts for members use - only. The email address will have the guicausa.org address suffix (ex: azosa@guicausa.org).
This is free to members. With this Yahoo hosting account, the first 200 email accounts are free of charge. Avail of this FREE email account. It does help brand our web site and GUICAUSA itself.
2) We have created, a GUICAUSA1 Yahoo email group. Members are encouraged to join this Yahoo email group. It's very easy to join. An email "invite" will be sent to you. The first step is to contact us and send us your name and email address so we can send the "invite" by email. You can use your current email or apply for a new one using the GUICAUSA emails discussed in item 1 above (yourname@guicasusa.org). Once you receive the "invite" respond to it and wait for confirmation. We reserve the right to decide who are allowed in the Guicausa Yahoo email group. As member of the Guicausa email group, you are sent a copy of emails within the group. Members can also send messages and are shared to all for the benefit of the group. To start with, advertisement emails are not allowed. Chain emails are not allowed. The moderator reserves the right to censor any email not otherwise relevant to the purpose of the email group.
We encourage members and friends to share any news, alerts, topics, and information of interest to the group.
